Our format
What we do
Malta’s Lite Radio and The Breeze are national independent commercial radio stations, licensed by the Broadcasting Authority, the radio and television regulator in Malta and Gozo.
Our station format is set out below. This information is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we do for the communities we serve.
Transmission
Malta’s Lite Radio and The Breeze broadcast 24 hours a day in English on DAB+ digital radio.
The powerful signal from our network of transmitters covers more than 583,000 residents of Malta and Gozo as well as 3,000,000 tourists.
National coverage is also available online via this website and on apps such as Online Radio Box and My Radio Box as well as on smartphones, tablets, laptops and personal computers.
Automation
Malta’s Lite Radio and The Breeze automate their programming using state-of-the-art computer technology.
Programming
Our programming output comes from our broadcast centre in Malta while our head office is in Gozo.
Our experienced on-air team includes Ian Brannan, Simon Clarke and Martin Buchanan.
News and traffic
News updates on Malta’s Lite Radio are aired at 0700, 0800, 0900, 1500, 1600, 1700, 1800, 1900 and 2000.
Malta’s Lite Radio provides local travel bulletins at peak times when the need arises.

Our music playlist is updated regularly. The songs we play are the best from the past five decades, brought to you by experienced and intelligent presenters.

What’s on information for the Maltese Islands can be heard every hour across the day, aimed at holidaymakers as well as residents of Malta and Gozo.
We also promote a number of good causes. We broadcast a number of social responsibility campaigns that encourage healthy lifestyles, road safety, fire safety and respect for the environment.
